V. Reports
See handout
A. District-wide Nurse Education: A review of the interaction/integration of the program that has occurred thus far.
B. Fall District Convocation: A good idea that should continue; however, its development is still ongoing. Perhaps it can be shared among the colleges and be expanded to include art shows and faculty lectures. D. Bezayiff introduced the idea of visiting instructors (instructor exchange) between the campuses.
C. Academic Calendars – Process for 2007-08: Within the framework of common start and stop dates for each academic year, Senates should discuss the process for holidays and concerns with local district schedules.
D. Program Discontinuance Policy: Both BC and CC will review the PC policy and other community college discontinuance policies and develop their policies. The intent is to have a Board approved Discontinuance Policy by the end of Spring 2006.
E. District Senate or Coordination and Professional Matters on all Three College Campuses: Discussion about a possible District-wide academic senate. D. Bezayiff noted that with forthcoming administrative change and existing commitments that this issue should be tabled.
F. Board Policy Approval Process: Discussion about ways to improve approval process.
2. CCA (Piersol)
Started negotiations with the basics.

No new news.

Applied Technology division has the 168 hour curriculum and the welding classroom will be remodeled for the Industrial Mechanic Technician program. Grant money will be funding this.

Question from the EODAC committee.
Is there an established procedure for how the Senate President fills HR’s requests for screening/hiring committee members. Answer – the president approaches faculty members with the needs.
CHAP – theatrical dance troop telling the story of Manzanar would cost $2000. Motion for funding to be brought at a future meeting.
Full time faculty
