Personal Mentor Services
The TANF-CDC Program and CEC Mentor Program Partnership is dedicated to providing you with high quality Mentor services that meet your individual needs. All Mentors have completed a rigorous Mentor training program and selection process. Mentors understand the demands put on you as an ECE student. They will support you through academic and professional challenges from the classroom, through practicum and employment.
Types of Mentor Services
You can receive one-on-one Mentor coaching and assistance in:
- Planning appropriate curriculum and activities for children
- Implementing effective classroom management techniques
- Applying positive guidance strategies
- Building supportive relationships with parents
- Completing ECE course-required projects and assignments
- Receiving specialized training and skill development at your employer work site
- Getting support and referral for
- Improving study skills
- Tutoring
- Supportive services
- Resume and interviewing skills
- Exploring career options
How to Obtain Mentor Services
To initiate the process for receiving services from a personal Mentor who best meets your needs:
- Contact your TANF-CDC Program Facilitator or CalWORKs Liaison, who will connect you to a Mentor Coordinator.
- Work with the Mentor Coordinator to find the right match.
