APPLICATION PROCESS

Applying for financial aid can be confusing, but, the staff in the Financial Aid Office will assist you through the process. Please be patient with us and the application process.

Step 1 Obtain the Free Application For Student Aid application from the Financial Aid Office.  Or apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Step 2 Take your time; READ THE INSTRUCTIONS carefully; ask questions if you're unsure; and fill out the application completely.

Step 3 Gather all records you will need:
Last years IRS tax forms
You, your parent's/spouse's state and local tax return forms and other records of money earned for last year.
Record of untaxed income, such as veteran, social security, unemployment, or welfare benefits (need a form "B" for these sources of income, pick up at Financial Aid Office)
Current bank statements
Records of medical and/or dental bills
Business and/or farm records
Records of stocks, bonds, and other investments/assets

Keep these records! The financial aid office will require supporting documents for students selected to be "verified" by U.S. Department of Education.

Students petitioning the Financial Aid Office for consideration to change status from dependent to independent due to extenuation circumstances, must make an appointment to see Financial Aid Director.
