Porterville College is once again offering SUMMER BRIDGE. This is a four-week program where students will enroll in classes to earn up to a total of 5.5 college units.
The program curriculum will consist of the following:
- Interdisciplinary P058A: Introduction to College/Career Planning
- Interdisciplinary P058B: Introduction to College Writing
- Interdisciplinary P058C: Introduction to College Reading
- Interdisciplinary P058D: Introduction to College Elementary Algebra
In addition, students will be able to enroll in a physical education course in the afternoon, in PhEd P159 Lap Swimming which is a one-unit course.
The focus of SUMMER BRIDGE is to prepare incoming college freshmen and concurrent high school students for the community college system.
The program's goal is to prepare students for academic success via an intensive introduction to college curriculum with mini-courses that cover instruction in basic writing, reading, elementary algebra, career planning, and study skills.

Who's Eligible?
In order to be eligible, applicants must submit the items listed below:
- Porterville College admissions or update form for Summer 2008
- PC Summer Bridge Application
- Unofficial Transcript
Summer 2008 H. S. Students also need to submit a Petition for Special Admit Students & Official Transcript
A maximum of 35 students will be accepted, so it's vital that applicants submit an application before the deadline date of June 12, 2008.
