Turning in Moodle Assignments

Most likely you will be turning in assignments to your Moodle class.  There are a couple of different types of assignments that your teacher might require, including one where you type or paste text into a box and one where you upload a file.  There is also an assignment type that requires you to upload multiple files and another type of assignment where you turn in your work offline (e.g. in class or by dropping it off at your instructor's office). This page explains how to turn-in these types of assignments.

Online Text Assignments

In the Online Text type of assignments, you complete the assignment by entering text in the text box provided in Moodle. Below is what you will see when you first click on this type of assignment.

Upload a Single File

In this type of assignment you will turn in a single file that you have already created and saved on your computer. When you first click on an assignment of this type this is what you will see.

You would click on the Browse button and locate the file on your computer then click Open. The file location should be filled into the box. You can then click on Upload this file.  Once your file is uploaded, you will receive confirmation that you have successfully submitted your file. Your instructor will receive notification that you have turned in your assignment.

Multiple File Assignments

Sometimes an assignment requires you to upload more than one file.  This type of assignment has several different options that your instructor can set, so the example shown here may be different than the one you see.  In this example we are uploading two files.  We have the option to add notes to our assignment when we turn it in.  If we want to include notes for the instructor we would click the Edit button and type in our message.  When we are ready for the instructor to see and grade our assignment we have to click on the Send for marking button.
