Chemistry 106 Wait List
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How many students do you take from the wait list?

For laboratory safety and pedagogical reasons, 30 students is the maximum enrollment for Chemistry 106. The wait list is handled automatically. If an enrolled student drops from the class roster, the #1 wait list student becomes enrolled within 24 hours. More information about the how the wait list functions is available here.

How late after the semester begins can students enroll from the wait list?
The wait list is electronically purged and removed at the end of the second week. This happens to be the first laboratory activity. Students can not be enrolled after the second week of class.
I am X on the wait list. What are my chances of enrolling in the class?
There is no simple answer. It mostly depends on how long before the semester begins. For example if it is several weeks from the semester and you are 3rd on the wait list, you have a very good chance of enrolling in the class. If it is the day before the semester begins, and you are 20th, then your chances are very low. If you are on the wait list, remember to show up to class on the first day of the semester or you will be dropped from the wait list.
Are there any other sections of chemistry opening up?
Likely none. Currently there is only one section of Chem 106 available Spring 2010. Click here to see the status of Chem 106 for Spring 2010.
