STAR PARTY NEWS:
ASTRONOMERS HOST LAST STAR PARTY OF SEASON
This Saturday night, November 22, the Tule Amateur Astronomers club will host the
the public at a free and open Star Party telescope session. Commencing about 6 P.M.,
the event will take place at Royer Oaks Observatory, 40708B Balch Park Road, about
6 miles north of Springville. Two telescopes owned by Monsignor Royer will be used,
the 25 inch aperture "Big Momma" telescope and the 12 1/2 inch in the domed observatory.
This will be the last of 2008's warm season observing sessions. Next April they will resume
once the winter cold and rains are over. All are welcome to look at Jupiter and his satellites
and the Great Galaxy in Andromeda, whose light being gathered by our telescopes has
travelled over 2.25 million years to get here and be seen by you. Don't you think you should
be here to see it?
As usual, dress warmly and bring a small flashlight, preferably with a red cellophane over
the lens. A sign will be out on Balch Park Road directing you to turn in to the Royer home.
Or you can call 559-539-3900 or 539-5300 or look at our website at www.astrospringville.org
for directions.
