College security and safety

Porterville College strives to provide reasonable protection to all members and property of this campus community. In situations beyond the capabilities of On-Campus Security the Porterville Police Department and associated Emergency Management Systems will respond to provide the necessary assistance.

Violent crimes continue to be on the rise on campuses nation-wide, therefore the awareness of personal safety should remain a personal concern. Thefts of personal property do occur, most of those being of opportunuty, so again take precautions to protect your valuables, on and off campus. (see below).

Simple steps to consider: lock your vehicle, remove from public view any items, and secure personal property including purses, book bags/backpacks. Please notify Security (791-2440) in the event of a theft.

The College

Porterville College is committed to providing an educational process to enhance the personal worth and intellectual potential of its students and is also dedicated to producing graduates who are prepared for tomorrow's challenges. Statistics prove that Porterville College students who transfer to a four-year college earn grades that are equal to or better than those earned by students who go directly from high school to a fouryear institution. Our vocational graduates enter the work force with a degree or certificate that means quality training to area employers.
