The Certificate Program in Agriculture has been developed to provide an individual with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to analyze opportunities, alternatives and problems as a part of the decision making process in an agricultural business. The issues include but are not limited to the supply and demand, marketing problems, use of natural resources, and modes of action for the effective use of pesticides. Throughout each course, the application of modern technology is infused through the use of computers.
The certificate and degree programs require that 24 units in Agricultural studies be taken. There are 12 units of Core Courses required for either of the two specialization options. The remaining 12 units can be selected from a group of courses offered in the Business emphasis or the Production emphasis.
An Associate in Arts-Agriculture degree can be earned by taking the same courses as are required in the Certificate Program and then completing the remainder of the 60 units in the required general education areas for graduation.
