LVN to RN nursing education prepares the graduate to provide services to those who need healthcare. Nursing is an art and science incorporating knowledge from the behavioral, biological and physical sciences. Nursing embodies a holistic concept of health in which the physical, psychological, intellectual, social and spiritual aspects of human functioning are interrelated, interdependent, and of equal importance. The LVN to ADN Degree program is for students already possessing a LVN license, nursing prerequisites, IV certification and experience as an LVN that allows advanced placement in the ADN program. ADN coursework is completed over two semesters. The successful RN may begin employment in a wide variety of entry-level positions. The role of a new graduate is usually that of a staff nurse. With additional education, a nurse may advance to a position of supervisor, administrator, clinical specialist, educator, or researcher. Upon successful completion of the LVN to ADN Degree program, graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
