PORTERVILLE – (May 17, 2018) – Porterville College men’s basketball coach Rob Haynes and members of the PC men’s and women’s basketball teams are set to host the 15th annual Junior Pirates Summer Elite Skills Camp for boys and girls grades K-6. The camp will take place July 30 to Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to noon each day, in the PC gym. The cost is $60.

Over the course of the three-day camp, players will learn about the fundamentals of basketball, from offense and defense to the importance of hustle and teamwork.

“A lot of junior-college programs don’t do camps like this, but we do it for the kids,” Haynes said after the Junior Pirates Summer Elite Skills Clinic, which took place June 11-13 for players grades 7-12. That was the first basketball clinic for that age group at PC.

The registration form for the K-6 camp can be picked up in the PC Business Office, which is located in the main Academic Center building. Checks should be made payable to “Porterville College Foundation (Men’s Basketball).” Cash payments are also acceptable.
