The Learning Center supports the Porterville College Mission Statement by offering academic support to students at every level of skill and ability through peer and faculty tutorial services and a supervised learning software lab.
If you are on campus, come in and see what is happening in the Learning Center, located in LRC-503 inside the Learning Resource Center building. We have had many changes over the past couple of semesters. In our lab area, we continue to offer self-paced lab classes. Our reading and writing lab students are now using MyReadingLab, MyWritingLab and Townsend Press software. Our math lab students are now using MyMathLab and ALEKS software.
We continue to offer peer tutoring in a wide variety of subjects. In addition to peer tutors, instructors from the Science/Math and Language Arts divisions are available to assist students on a drop-in basis. Come in and see which of our services will best suit your needs.
