Porterville College is pleased to announce that its Treasure Café is now open to the public* from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday for breakfast and lunch. The Treasure Café features freshly made soup, salads, wraps and an array of grill items. The café is located inside the Student Center.
The Treasure Café is under the direction of Chef Pat Coyle who is a Certified Culinary Educator that retired from Bakersfield College (BC) in July 2014. For over 30 years, he was the Instructor and Division chair of BC’s Culinary Arts Program & Renegade Dining Room. Additionally, as BC’s Food Service Director he oversaw the preparation of meals for over 20,000 students, 300 staff, and the Child Development Center.
Prior to joining BC, Chef Coyle established the food service operations at Taft College. Also, he was an U.S. Army Staff Sergeant managing food operations. He is an American Culinary Society member and twice recipient of the Bakersfield Chef of the Year Award.
