Making the summer hours easier to bear with “15 Minutes of Fun” for PC Staff

Summer at the office brings a lot of great things—quieter commutes, casual dress codes, and beautiful weather. But let’s be honest: those 10-hour shifts from Monday through Thursday can start to feel incredibly long by the time afternoon rolls around.

To inject some much-needed self-care, laughter, and energy into our summer workdays, the PC administration has launched our newest staff and faculty initiative, appropriately dubbed "15 Minutes of Fun!"

Each week, a different division or department takes the reins to host a surprise activity designed to help us unwind, step away from our screens, and break up the monotony of the long day. It is a casual, low-pressure way to bond as a team, meet colleagues from other departments, and prioritize our mental well-being.

Expect the Unexpected

If you think this is just your standard coffee break, think again. Our departments are getting incredibly creative, meaning you never quite know what is on the agenda. One week might feature a fast-paced game show or a high-stakes, bracket-style Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament. Another week might get everyone up and moving with a mid-day line dancing session to shake off desk fatigue, or offer the ultimate stress relief with a visit from live animals, including adorable baby chicks.

Don't let the clock fool you! Despite the name, the "15 minutes" isn't a strict limitation. These events often naturally extend as people chat and laugh. Furthermore, the timing changes every week to ensure that team members from every single shift get a fair chance to step away and join in.

See You Next Week!

If you are a PC staffer, be sure to keep a close eye on your inbox and department group chats for next week's reveal.

Make sure to take some time for yourself, each week close your laptops, step away from your desk, and come join your colleagues for some well-deserved downtime and "15 Minutes of Fun!" A huge thank you goes out to all the departments who have hosted so far—you are keeping our summer bright.
