Porterville College is thrilled to announce that Stephanie Cortez, Business Professor and Career Education Division Chair, has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Tulare Kings CTE Champion Award. This prestigious recognition celebrates individuals who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to Career Technical Education and have made a significant impact on student success through innovation and leadership.

 

Professor Cortez continues to be a driving force for career readiness at Porterville College, ensuring our students are prepared for success in the workforce and beyond. This award highlights her dedication to providing high-quality educational pathways that empower students across our community.

 

To celebrate this achievement, Professor Cortez will be formally recognized at the CTE Champion Recognition Luncheon on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The event will take place at 12:00 p.m. at The Hyde Event Center in Visalia, California. This luncheon celebrates her impact alongside fellow educators, industry partners, and community leaders who share a passion for preparing students for success in college, career, and beyond.

 

The recognition occurs during CTE Month, a national public awareness campaign held every February to celebrate the accomplishments and importance of career and technical education programs for students of all ages.
