Campus Life in Full Swing: Club Rush Connects Pirates Across the Quad

The Quad was buzzing with energy this week as Club Rush took over campus on September 9 and 10, bringing together student organizations, lively conversations, and plenty of Pirate pride.

Over the two-day event, more than 20 student clubs and organizations set up shop outside to connect with peers and showcase the best of PC life beyond the classroom. From hands-on demonstrations and creative displays to sign-up sheets overflowing with new members, the Quad became the ultimate hub for students looking to discover new passions, find support networks, and build community.

Getting involved in campus life is one of the best ways to keep yourself balanced throughout the semester. Stepping away from the textbooks to work on community service projects, explore new hobbies, or collaborate with classmates who share your goals offers a fresh perspective—and often opens doors to unexpected career paths. Most importantly, it’s about finding “your people.” The connections forged around the tables this week are the kind that make college memorable and build lifelong friendships.

Whether you checked out academic groups like Math Club, channeled your creativity with the Art Club, or signed up for a service-oriented organization, this week proved that campus life is back in full swing.

If you missed out on the tables during the Rush, don’t worry—it is never too late to get connected. You can drop by the Student Life office near the cafeteria, or reach out directly to Jacob Sandoval, Student Life and Leadership Program Manager, at jacob.sandoval@portervillecollege.edu to find the right club for you.

Here’s to a fantastic, involved, and unforgettable year of Student Life at Porterville College!
