Dreamscape Learn Lab Visits Porterville College

Imagine taking students to a space station to solve a crisis without ever leaving Porterville. That is the type of experience being offered by the Dreamscape Lab, a new mobile virtual reality unit that has arrived at Porterville College for a short time.

Far from a standard classroom, this trailer features 16 immersive stations complete with haptic chairs and wind effects designed to "hook" students into a cinematic story. We sat down with Todd Coston, Associate Vice Chancellor for Kern Community College District to find out how this "virtual field trip" works, and what this temporary trailer could mean for the future of Education at PC.
