KCCD Board of Trustees Holds Meeting on Porterville College Campus

Board meeting

This week, Porterville College was honored to host the Kern Community College District Board of Trustees for their monthly meeting. We were delighted to welcome the trustees, along with guests from the District Office and our sister schools, Cerro Coso College and Bakersfield College.

The day began with tours of our beautiful campus, allowing our visitors to see firsthand the vibrant learning environment and outstanding facilities we offer. Following the tour, a luncheon was held in the Student Center Conference Room (SCCR), providing a wonderful opportunity for the trustees and guests to connect with PC faculty and staff.

The formal board meeting took place after the luncheon. During the meeting, Porterville College had the chance to highlight some of the incredible work and accomplishments happening on campus. A key part of the agenda was a special presentation from our Fine Arts Department. They showcased some of the amazing developments within their department, including significant enrollment growth and the introduction of new programs. The presentation also addressed some of the department's needs for the future and extended an invitation to the public and the Board of Trustees to attend their upcoming open house event on September 24th at 3 p.m.

The meeting was a fantastic opportunity to share our successes and future aspirations with the district leadership. For more information on the meeting, including the minutes, you can visit www.kccd.edu.
