PC Welcomes Our New Vice President of Student Services!

We are thrilled to share some exciting news for the Porterville College community! Following an extensive nationwide search, Dr. Clementina C. Macias has been officially appointed as our new Vice President of Student Services.

 

Dr. Macias joins us with more than an impressive resume; she brings a heart for student success and a vision that aligns perfectly with our mission to support every student who walks through our doors.

 

With over 19 years of leadership experience spanning both the California Community College and California State University systems, Dr. Macias is a seasoned advocate for student growth. Her career has been defined by a tireless commitment to advancing equitable access and strengthening the support systems that help our students thrive. She has consistently focused on supporting first-generation, low-income, and historically underserved students through student-centered approaches that promote both persistence and completion.

 

Most recently, Dr. Macias served as the Dean of Counseling and Student Success at Barstow Community College. In that role, she managed a diverse portfolio including mental health services, disability support, and the Dream Resource Center. Her background also includes significant leadership at the university level, where she managed essential programs centered on basic needs and retention initiatives.

 

What makes Dr. Macias a truly special fit for Porterville is her personal connection to the journey many of our students are on today. As a first-generation college graduate originally from Monterey County, she understands the unique challenges and the incredible strengths of the communities we serve.

 

Her collaborative leadership style and dedication to inclusive environments make her an ideal fit for our campus culture. Dr. Macias herself views leadership as a responsibility grounded in service, and she is eager to begin working alongside our faculty and staff to strengthen pathways to graduation.

 

As we enter this next era of Student Services, we are confident that Dr. Macias’s expertise and "student-first" philosophy will help us reach new heights. She holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University, a Master’s in Counseling from San José State University, and a Bachelor’s in Collaborative Health and Human Services from CSU Monterey Bay.
