PC Marks Undocumented Student Success Week 2026: "Our Stories. Our Strength. Our Future."
10/23/26
Porterville College celebrated Undocumented Student Action Week (also known as Undocumented Student Success Week) this week, aligning with the statewide
observance running from October 19–23, 2026. Centered around the 2026 theme, "Our
Stories. Our Strength. Our Future.," the statewide initiative focuses on lifting up
student voices, building robust support systems, and connecting undocumented and immigrant-impacted
students with vital campus and legal resources.
The PC community gathered in the quad to launch the week with an energetic tabling
event, distributing promotional items and raising awareness. Activities continued
with a Basic Needs Center resource presentation and the "Wings Without Borders" butterfly
painting event in collaboration with UFWF.
On Thursday, October 22, students took part in the interactive Dream Wall in the Quad
from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Additionally, students and staff were able to tune into
statewide virtual webinars through Thursday, covering key topics like immigration
legal service provider consultations.
