Celebrating Bulldog Bound

Porterville College took a monumental step in streamlining university pathways this week as students turned out in high numbers for the Transfer and Career Resource Center Open House. The event marked the official rollout of the college’s partnership with California State University, Fresno, introducing the Bulldog Bound Transfer Guarantee Program to an eager campus community.

The atmosphere across campus was buzzing as Pirates gathered to chart their paths to becoming future Bulldogs. Throughout the event, students sat down one-on-one with Fresno State counselors, mapped out specific major requirements, and signed their official Bulldog Bound pledges on the spot. In addition to securing their admission pathways, participants took home exclusive Bulldog gear and tapped into valuable benefits that accompany the initiative. They even got to meet Victor E. Bulldog, Fresno State's 4 legged mascot! He had a great time while on campus, playing with students and the PC Pirate!

The Bulldog Bound Program guarantees admission to Fresno State for qualifying students who fulfill minimum California State University eligibility criteria, while offering continuous support through dedicated academic advising, early admission notifications, potential application fee waivers, and transfer scholarship opportunities.

From first-semester freshmen organizing their general education tracks to sophomores polishing their transfer requirements, students praised the direct access to university representatives and the clear roadmap toward a four-year degree. The turnout and energy reaffirmed a strong campus-wide drive toward bachelor's degree attainment and regional academic achievement.

Students who could not attend the open house are still encouraged to stop by the Transfer and Career Resource Center on campus to learn more about eligibility requirements and sign the pledge.
