PC Salutes our Veterans

Honoring our own hero

On Tuesday, November 7th, Student Services and the Veteran’s Resource Center celebrated our veterans with a luncheon and resource fair on the PC Campus. Dean of Student Success Erin Wingfield served as the mistress of ceremonies for the event and delivered the welcome address to the group of veterans, their families, students, and community members in attendance.

After the PC Choir, led by music professor Sarah Rector, performed a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem, a keynote address was given to the crowd by Porterville Military Academy Commandant Lt. Col. Fred Dohnke.

At the end of the ceremony, veteran and retired PC faculty member Richard Osborne was presented with an award for his service both to our country and to Porterville College.

Many organizations that provide services and programs were in attendance to provide support to the event as well. The event concluded with lunch for the attendees and a resource fair.
