Prepping for Success: PC Faculty & Staff Gather for Spring FLEX Day

President Monarrez Addresses Faculty and Staff

On Friday, January 16th, the entire Porterville College team—faculty, staff, and administrators—came together for our bi-annual FLEX Day. This essential event is dedicated to professional development and training to ensure our campus is fully prepared to support student success before the start of every semester.

This spring’s event was our most comprehensive yet, featuring more sessions than ever before. We significantly expanded our training lineup to include multiple targeted sessions throughout the day for both our Faculty and Classified staff.

The day featured opening remarks from Kern Community College District (KernCCD) Chancellor Dr. Steven Bloomberg and KernCCD Trustee John Corkins. PC President Primavera Monarrez set the tone early, stating "the strength of this institution lies in us" and then proceeded to outline our intent to refocus, reconnect, and recommit to our students' success every day. It was a powerful day of learning, preparation, and celebration of our mission and the people we serve—our students!
