Elementary Teacher Education (AA-T)

The Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for Transfer degree incorporates the elementary subject matter competence requirements as established by the California Teacher Credentialing Commission and prepares students for the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) Multiple Subjects exam, including core courses in the Arts, Education, English, the Humanities, Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. While developing the knowledge of the subject matter required, students will also acquire and develop the skills and abilities and be provided with the practical work-related experiences, test preparation, and guidance necessary for a successful career in public education. Porterville College students enrolling in this program are not required to complete any additional graduation requirements beyond those specified in this 60-unit degree.
