The Porterville College Rising Scholars Program is committed to supporting justice-impacted students by removing barriers and building community throughout our student population. The program offers a variety of resources that aim to foster solid pathways that lead to professional and personal growth. Acknowledging that each student has their own unique set of experiences and challenges, the Rising Scholars team thrives to provide a safe, supportive, equitable, and empowering educational environment. The mission of the Rising Scholars Program is to support our Rising Scholar Students from application to graduation. Who Can Participate in the Rising Scholars Program?
- Currently enrolled at Porterville College
- Enrolled in at Least three units.
- Currently or Formerly Incarcarated
- Students with close relatives who have been incarcerated
- Students who have been arrested, convicted, or adjudicated without incarceration
