Helpful Information About Rising Scholars
The Rising Scholars Program welcomes students who are justice-impacted, including those who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled at Porterville College
- Enrolled in at least 3 units
- Currently or formerly incarcerated
- Impacted by the incarceration of a family member
- Arrested, convicted, or adjudicated, regardless of whether incarceration occurred
As a Rising Scholar, you’ll have access to a variety of services and opportunities designed to support your academic, personal, and professional success, including:
- Priority Registration
- Financial Aid Guidance and Assistance
- One-on-One Advising and Counseling
- Peer Mentorship and Community Building
- Transfer and Career Preparation
