Online student services

On this page you will see information about our most requested online student services. For additional services available to students, please visit our main Porterville College Website.

Online Advising

Online advising is now available and is an easy way for students to get help with all of their academic advising needs. In an online counseling session, you will login to a special meeting space and be able to see and hear the counselor, and they can see and hear you as well. To find out more and to schedule a virtual meeting with a counselor, visit the Online Advising & Counseling Website.

Online Library Services

Our on-campus library is a great central location where you can study, locate information for your academic needs, and get research assistance. When you visit the Library's online Website, you can access scholarly content through the research databases and full-text electronic books, and locate the email address and phone number for further assistance.

Online Tutoring

In addition to our great on-campus tutors, online students have access to online tutoring through our partnership with NetTutor. There are several ways you can use NetTutor:

  • You can chat with a tutor live to get immediate help with your assignments.
  • You can submit a question and receive a reply to your question later
  • You can upload a paper and receive detailed feedback later
  • Also, your tutoring sessions are archived, so you can refer back to them later if you want.

There are tutors available in almost every subject that we offer online, and many subjects have live tutors available 24/7.

To access NetTutor:
Login to your course in Canvas. Look for the link to NetTutor in the course's navigation. If you cannot find NetTutor in your course, visit the PC Students Resources site in Canvas.
