Before You Register for Classes

In order to be eligible for Registration, you must first Apply to Porterville College and obtain a Student ID.

Under the direction of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, a new third-party identity verification service has been implemented as another option alongside the existing IDme verification service. The CA DMV Wallet mobile Driver’s License (mDL) service offers students a direct, self-service identity-proofing option as they enter the CCC system. For more information, visit our Apply Now page.

Please take note of some of the new terminology being used in our course listings:

ZTC or Zero Textbook Costs = textbooks and/or readings are provided at no cost.

LTC or Low Textbook Cost = Textbook and/or materials do not exceed $50.

Material Fees = Porterville College may require students to provide materials that are course-related, including, but not limited to, textbooks, tools, equipment and clothing.

Course Admission Policy : The policy of the college is that, unless specifically exempted by statute or regulation, every course, course section, or class reported for state aid, wherever offered and maintained by the college, shall be fully open to enrollment and participation by any person who has been admitted to the college and, when applicable, a relevant program, and who meets established prerequisites.
